When It's Rough

Smiling can be the LAST feat you feel ready to accomplish when your heart sits so heavy in your chest that it  seems to weigh down your whole body.  And still... sometimes it's all you can do.
Most of us know for a sure fact that cancer does NOT discriminate.  Not when you're a child, and not when your an otherwise very healthy young man with two children.  One thing is for sure, if it is good for anything it's to show you where your strength really lies. I'ts funny how that works.  That sometimes it's not until we're on our knees that we finally decide to look up. When every 'thing' we have or care about is at stake we begin to see the things that really matter more clearly. Love comes in and has a way of putting our fears at rest. Love will carry us through.
It's a shame that we so often wait until we have nothing left to see this.  But see it we will. And that's where we find the purpose in pain.  We're not on our own.  Love will carry our burdens and offer us
all a shelter to rest. It is meant to take up refuge in. Love always gives reason to lay our old ways down and smile at the new life we find.
And a good laugh can always help too :)
